The well-being of Native Hawaiians is deeply rooted in our connection to the land. Dignified housing for Hawaiians in Hawaiʻi.

Building a Future for Native Hawaiian Families: Strengthening Hawaiʻi Through Culture and Community

Support House Bill 606

This campaign is dedicated to rallying community support for HB606, a critical bill aimed at increasing funding for the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL). With 29,000 Native Hawaiians still waiting on the DHHL waitlist, skyrocketing housing costs—fueled by foreign investment, short-term rentals, and the U.S. military—have left many in our lāhui facing houselessness and unstable living conditions.

A strong Kanaka Maoli population ensures that Hawaiian culture, traditions, and values continue to thrive. This cultural vitality is not only essential to our lāhui but also enriches all of Hawaiʻi, fostering a deeper connection to the land (ʻāina) and a stronger sense of community.

To honor the vision of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole and fulfill the promise of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, we must secure the resources needed to provide safe, affordable, and dignified housing for Native Hawaiian families. Together, through HB606, we can build a Hawaiʻi where culture, community, and opportunity flourish for generations to come.
